Mike Johnson has been active in the Chicago Improv scene for 25 years. He has trained, performed, coached, and/or taught at such venerable improv institutions as CIC Theater, iO Theater, Logan Square Improv, Second City, and the Annoyance Theater. He has had the joy of performing with amazing improv teams such as Horesefly (CIC), Felt (iO), Bozo (indie), and The Improvised Movie (iO), to name a few.
Whether he is teaching new or advanced performers, Mike strives to help each performer grow as an individual while stressing ensemble play. Mike’s improv methodology was highlighted in his coaching of “The Pool”, a program at iO where he stressed creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where creativity and team play can flourish.
