Noah was one of the most influential teachers and performers of the art of improvisation of the past 30+ years.
He fell in love with improv in the early 80’s at the legendary iO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic) where he performed and taught the most. In 1999 he took over the graduating level when his predecessor, Del Close, passed away.
Noah also taught and directed iO West, Second City, Columbia College, and DePaul University, and a staff writer on the TV sitcom, Dharma & Greg.
At Second City he directed the theater’s first long-form improv show, “Lois Kaz,” and directed a revue at their ETC Theater (“If The White House Is A-Rockin’, Don’t Come A-Knockin’.”)
He performed numerous shows at iO, most notably with his team, “Carl and the Passions”, “The Armando Diaz Experience”, and with the groundbreaking 1990s show “Jazz Freddy.”
Noah was to be one of the founding members of The Home Theater. but sadly he passed away in 2023, before we had found our new home.
His passion and care for the art of improvisation continues to be an inspiration to us all.
